Even if you don't continue working in construction, knowing how to swing a hammer, take measurements, apply a sealant, and so forth will come in really handy in maintaining your own home. By working as a roofer for a while, you will learn so many transferable construction skills, and you'll get paid to do it.
4. You get to be outside in the fresh air.
Being outside is good for you. As long as you remember to apply sunscreen so you don't risk sunburn, you will likely enjoy the benefits of increased vitamin D levels. Vitamin D helps ease feelings of depression, keeps your bones and teeth healthy, and helps balance your hormone levels. The fresh air can also help keep you from getting colds or dealing with asthma symptoms.
